My initial experience in purchasing from SP was good. They had a decent van, at a decent price. And, importantly, the offered a 3 month guarantee. Pity is, the three month promise was false. Unfortunately, the guarantee is where things all went wrong. The brakes failed, 30 miles from them. I took it in to my local garage, where they provided a quote and SP Services kindly agreed to pay the repair costs back to me.However, around 2 weeks later, a different mechanism in the brakes failed. A spring, not repaired on the previous fix, failed and tore into the recently replaced brake pad. The breakage also caused me to have no van for work, though fortunately I wasn't fully laden when the break happened. At any rate, I returned back to my local garage for them to have a look. The cause was quite clear, so both the garage and myself phoned SP to discuss next steps. They were reluctant, given that the brakes had only just been replaced, however soon understood that the two failures were unrelated and agreed to pay for the repairs. The arrangement, as before, was that they would provide the parts, I would pay the labour and then they would pay me back. I've now been waiting for SP to repay the 180 labour charge since April. Despite having tried to discuss things further, even settle for a bit less, they have refused to even enter into dialogue with me apart from a brief phone call where they advised that they had only agreed to pay for the parts. This was not the case and it is distressing that they have now opted to recant on their agreement.'I'm giving the 2 star rating because the initial experience was good. However, to falsify the guarantee (a key selling point) is not acceptable and is something that I feel the general public should be aware of.
