Visited here on business. We were looked after excellently and hope to visit again. Really freindly people who are doing a great job in preserving this marvellous peice of history for future generations. Pay Stuart House a visit and enjoy history brought to life.
Not able to explore the whole this historic building due to mobility problems, but regularly use the small cafe on the ground floor at the rear. Lovely quiet spot for a cuppa and a snack. There's space to sit and have your food & drink outside in the garden if the weather is fine. Staffed by lovely people - volunteers I believe.
Stuart House is an intriguing find in the centre of Liskeard. The gardens are beautiful and the house offers a fascinating insight into the history of the town and founder Henry Rice. Dogs are also welcome so it's most certainly well worth a visit.
Atmospheric, Interesting and Engaging. The Stuart House is is a must for anyone visiting visiting Liskeard and of course for locals wanting a dose of history and culture. Great exhibits. Regular exhibitions. A beautiful garden and a cafe. What more can you ask for.
Stuart House is quite amazing and bigger than it looks from the outside. Even if nothings going on inside it's worth a quick look around, the history is interesting, the garden worth a peek and a half reasonable cafe. It holds various crafty sales type events but I very much look out for visits by the people with real muskets *BANG*
